EIU in the Spotlight Again

August 20, 2007 – History will be made September 15 when two NCAA varsity women’s college rugby teams play a match for the first time.

Eastern Illinois will host West Chester at EIU’s Lakeside Field in what is being made into something of a major sporting event in Charleston, Ill.

“It’s not often that you can say, in this day and age, that you can be first in something, so we’re very pleased to have this game come off,” said EIU Sports Information director Rich Moser. “This has been in the works since West Chester became varsity and we’re going to so some promotions around it.”
