Tryouts for the 2008 West 7s Team are Announced

Dear potential West 7’s player,

Tryouts for the 2008 West 7’s team will occur June 28-29 in Denver, CO. The selection process will include fitness testing and tournament play on Saturday, June 28th. 21 players will be selected based on tournament play for a selection camp on Sunday, June 29. Teams are invited from all regions of the West. If you are interested in trying out but unable to come to the tournament with a team, you will be placed on a team. You may also participate in the tournament without trying out for the West 7’s team. Tournament entry fee in $75.00 per team.

2008 West coaching staff includes Laura Hertel and Jules Lehman. Laura has 18 years rugby playing experience including West 15’s, West 7’s and player pool national 15’s. Coaching experience includes ERRFU backs coach and Glendale Raptors backs specialist. Jules Lehman has 15 years of rugby playing experience including West 15’s, West 7’s, Atlantis 7’s and player pool National 7’s team. Paula Bailey will serve as team manager. In addition, National 7’s team coach Julie McCoy will be assisting with the player selection camp on Sunday, July 28.

Players must be available the following dates for West 7’s play:
Chicago 7’s tournament July 19-20
7’s ITT’s in Pittsburgh August 22-24
