USA Rugby Round of 16 Collegiate D1 & D2 Finalized, Broadcast Details Set for Playoffs

BOULDER, Colo. – Following the completion of this season’s collegiate territorial qualifiers, USA Rugby has officially released the competing lineups and broadcast details for its 2010 Collegiate Playoff series set to kick off this weekend in three locations.

“USA Rugby is very excited to kick off this National Championship season with these collegiate playoffs,” USA Rugby CEO Nigel Melville said. “These events feature the best of the best among our younger players, and the improved quality of collegiate competition proves that the future of our sport is increasingly bright.”

The Men’s Division I Collegiate Playoffs will be held in two locations this year, with Pools A and C competing at the University of California – Santa Barbara, April 16-18, while Pools B and D will face off at Life University in Marietta, Ga. on April 17-18.

The Women’s Division I Collegiate Playoffs will also be split, with half of the competition held at UC-Santa Barbara and the other half is at Seminole Soccer Complex in Sanford, Fla.

All of the Men’s and Women’s Division II Collegiate Playoffs will also be held at the Seminole Soccer Complex, making for approximately 40 matches taking place over two days in Sanford, Fla.

There is a $10 price for adult admission to the playoff events at UC-Santa Barbara and Life University. At the Seminole Soccer Complex, admission is free, but there will be a charge for parking.

Following the playoffs, the nation’s top men’s and women’s collegiate teams will be narrowed down and will once again take the field at Steuber Rugby Stadium at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. for the USA Rugby Collegiate Championships on April 30-May 1.
