On April 10, 2011 at the West Collegiate Local Area Union Tournament (LAU) in Lawrence, KS, a member of the Texas Rugby Union All Star team was severely injured. During the regular course of play, a straight on tackle caused Stephanie Flores’ head to come into contact with the ground. It should be emphasized that the tackle was neither malicious nor dangerous.

Flores was transferred from the field via ambulance to a Hospital south of Kansas City, KS. Doctors attended to her injuries and she is currently in the Intensive Care Unit. Her family and boyfriend are present with her in Kansas.

Along with being a member of the TRU Collegiate All Star team, Flores is the Captain of the University of Texas Women’s Collegiate team.

Your thoughts and prayers for the family and the UT rugby family are appreciated during this difficult time. If you would like to make a donation to Flores and her family to help with medical expenses, please donate below. Donations are through the YSC Paypal account and all funds will be given to the family. If you do not have a Paypal account, use the link on the bottom right to donate using a Credit Card.

Thank you to everyone that donated to the Flores’ family, through your generous support we were able to give the family over $10,000 dollars.
