Welcome to the 2011 Emirates Airlines USA Rugby Women’s Div 1 Club Playoffs! The format has changed a bit this year as it is now an Elite 8 Tournament instead of a Round of 12. This change should foster some really competitive games as each region only gets two to three seeds instead of four. Thank you to the Austin Blacks for hosting this tournament!
UPDATE 10/6 at 4:42pm: The Club Strategic Committee has confirmed that the Women’s DI Playoff structure will remain as posted with all teams playing two games in Austin. Also, there will not be a 3rd/4th game in Virginia Beach, only the Championship.

usarugby.org has the schedule posted online and lays out scheduling for two matches in Austin. I think there are some typos on the Saturday schedule. CR2 #2 is listed twice and the CR3 only has one team listed.

Is this the official schedule? Aren’t there 2 pitches at Burr in which case I would hope to that the matches could be at 9, 10, 11, and 12 on Sunday so that teams have the option to fly home so they can work on Monday?
Yes, this is the schedule that USAR has posted. It is subject to change though as USAR is still discussing the format for Sunday and the advancement to the Final Four.
So basically its all pending…fun right?

What’s with USA Rugby NOT having a complete Playoff in the Women’s Division I Championship? No match for 3rd and 4th Place, and no complete playoff for 5th and 6th or 7th and 8th . . . they don’t do that in the Men’s Divisions, and so, does anyone no what’s up with the ‘brilliant’ thinkin’ at the National level?
