by Kevin Sullivan:

Over the Halloween weekend, the DC Furies gave the Berkeley All Blues a frightening first half, but were ultimately zombied by 19 second-half unanswered points giving the ABs 32, DC 14.

From Coach Flores:
Furies came out very strong and had All Blues on their back foot, particularly in the first half. Strong defense on their part combined with costly penalties and handling errors on our part put them on the score board first. Throughout the first half the Furies caused countless All Blues turnovers, several which they converted for points.

Though the Furies continued their inspired play in the 2nd half, the All Blues improved their ball retention and finally got their backline sorted which led to a few more scores which put us ahead and on the winning end at the final whistle.

If the memory serves, for the first time this year, the ABs trailed at halftime. Also of note, 20 points, 4 tries, came from Kelly Griffin of the ABs. Elaine Gardner opened the ABs account with a yahtzee, and Jill Whitfield and Ruth Bryson split the kicking duties.

For the Furies, Elizabeth Hirschhorn and Julie Lao-Hogan were try scorers with Kristin Guiliano converting both.
