Wanted: Assistant Coaches for Maryland Stingers Women’s Rugby

The Maryland Stingers Women’s Rugby Football Club is currently looking for assistant coaches for the Fall 2012 season. We are in search of qualified assistant coaches, ideally with some coaching experience at the club or collegiate level (men or women), who can commit to weekly practices and games. Assistant coaches will be responsible for assisting in implementing practices, selecting the lineup for games based on team criteria, and communicating with players, including providing feedback to develop the individual and team game.  Assistant coaches will work closely with our head coach to fulfill these responsibilities. The club will cover all travel and coach development expenses, and will pay a small stipend.

The Maryland Stingers are based in College Park, Maryland and the club is a member of the Potomac Rugby Union. We are a growing women’s rugby team that competes in Division II MARFU. We practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and play a competitive schedule against teams in MD, DC, VA, PA, and NC. We have many young and talented players that range in experience from beginners to seasoned vets. Our immediate goals are to increase our competitiveness at the DII level and to develop a successful game plan with the help of a full coaching staff.
