As girls and youth rugby is exploding in growth locally and across the country, we look forward to offering the opportunity for young girls to further develop their skills and have a great camp experience on the Stanford campus. Stanford has a long and storied tradition of rugby in the women’s game, and we look forward to sharing that with young female rugby players.”

The authoritative Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association annual report showed over 1.1 million Americans had played Rugby during 2011. The Women’s game is also gaining popularity throughout the nation. The sport’s governing body, USA rugby, has recorded an increase of over 14,000 registered female players since 1999. Officials say they expect that number to continue growing with rugby’s return to the Olympics in 2016.
