The European Beach Rugby Association (E.B.R.A.) assigned this year to Bibione (Venezia – Italy) the first Italian leg of the European Beach Rugby Tourney. Therefore, on 14-15 June, next to the open tournament Beach Rugby Festival the will be the possibility to appreciate the best male and female players of the international scenery. Beach Rugby Festival is the most renowned and widely-attended open sporting event in Europe.
This year, the event is part of the Bibione Sport Experience which groups three distinct tournaments into the same weekend: Raduno Calcio a 5 (Five-a-side football) – Mizuno Cup, Beach Rugby Festival and Mizuno Beach Volley Marathon – Night Edition. It will take place in Bibione (Venice – Italy) in June, on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th 2014. Matches will be played within the new arena known as the “Bibione Sport Village” (in Zenith Square). As per the latest 2014 event update, attendees may sign up for the “Touch Rugby” mode of play, created in order to involve the largest number of senior and amateur athletes. This event will serve as a catalyst to bring together thousands of sports enthusiasts from all over Europe. Attending, in the evening, an unforgettable Spritz party on the beach and then dance the night away in the best clubs.
Beach Rugby Festival is open to teams of all levels with no age limit and divided into the following categories: Men’s 5vs5, Women’s 5vs5 and Mixed 5vs5 (only touch rugby, maximum three men on the field and minimum one man). Each team is allowed up to seven reserves. A player may only play for one team of the same category.
