WANTED: HEAD COACH FOR MARYLAND STINGERS WOMEN’S RUGBY CLUB

The Maryland Stingers Women’s Rugby Football Club (www.marylandstingers.org) is currently looking for a coach for our upcoming season, which will begin at the end of August. We are in search of qualified rugby coaches, ideally with some coaching experience at the club or collegiate level (men or women), who can commit to weekly practices and games. The head coach will be responsible for implementing practices, selecting the lineup for games based on team criteria, and communicating with players, including providing feedback to develop the individual and team game. The club will cover all travel and coach development expenses, and will pay a small stipend.

The Maryland Stingers are a D2 club team based in College Park, Maryland and are a member of the Capitol Geographic Union. We practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and play a competitive schedule against teams in MD, DC, VA, PA, and NC. We are looking for a coach with knowledge of USA Rugby laws and a current USA rugby coaching certification (or willingness to complete a course financed by the team).

We have many young and talented players that range in experience from beginners to seasoned vets. Our immediate goals are to increase our team size and skill level and we want a coach who can help develop the existing team and help us welcome new players.
