ODA adds American Rugby Pro Training & Serevi Institute Women’s Rugby Programs

Olympic Development Academy | Women's RugbyThe USA Rugby Olympic Development Academy has added American Rugby Pro Training Center and & newly expanded Serevi Rugby Institutes to their list of elite rugby opportunities (National Development Academies). These programs will have a special emphasis on women’s rugby development in the USA.

“We have experienced success on the men’s side in the ODA over the last year-plus with the significant work being done by the likes of the Northeast, Serevi, and Tiger Academies— the latter having recently overseen the advancement of Perry Baker’s game, as a quick example,” said USA Rugby National Sevens Director Alex Magleby. “We are looking forward to continuing our collaboration with the Serevi Institute staff to include international-caliber women’s athletes along with their numerous men’s national team players; and we are excited to add the ARPTC in Little Rock with an immediate focus to help expedite the development of future Olympic women’s athletes.”

We are particularly fond of the ARPTC as it isn’t based on the “pay to play” model that Serevi is often guilty of. Regardless these additional opportunities gives more women’s rugby players the chance to compete more regularly at a higher level domestically and internationally. Visit the USA Rugby website for more information on the Olympic Development Academy.
