NERFU runnerup Franklin Pierce Univ. could not stop the hard running Sacred Heart ladies, the TriState Conference Champ in a 63-24 loss in the first semifinal. While The University of New England, the NERFU Champ took on the Upstate NY Champ, St. Bonaventure but came up a little short 14-10 in the semi. Region 3

Host Mount St. Mary’s was not hospitable to visit William & Mary knocking them 42-22 in the first semifinal. Albright got off to a fast start and held off Great Lakes Ohio Champ Findlay 29-20 in the other semi. W&M scored the go-ahead try at the end of regulation time and Findlay put on relentless pressure to try to get the victory, but the Oilers came up short. When the Mount forwards started to put pressure on Albright, it allowed their speedy backs enough space to break through the deference leading to a 42-10 win and earn them their first visit to Nationals.

The Mount’s relentless flanker Tasha Akoto was named MVP.

NSCRO “Heart & Soul” recipients were Alexis Morrison (Findlay), Kiara Odam (William & Mary), Gianna George (Albright) and Aliyah Johnson (MSM).
