Swarthmore Women’s Rugby Team Seeks Head Coach

Swarthmore Women's RugbySwarthmore College WRFC, located outside of Philadelphia, is seeking a new head coach. We’re a small team in the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union.We are looking for a coach who can plan and lead practices (held Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4:30-6:30 pm on our field, which is easily accessible by SEPTA), work with the captains to select weekly lineups, attend Saturday matches, and communicate with players to improve team and individual play. A 200 level certification is not required for this season, but we are looking someone who is willing to obtain one.Team numbers fluctuate between 15 and 25-30 players, depending on the time of year. Most players come to the team with little to no rugby experience but are very willing to learn. We focus a lot on fitness, basic skills, and teamwork and will need a patient coach who can work with this type of team.

Our practices will begin on January 20th and our games will run from the end of March through mid-May. This is a part time position with a stipend of up to $2000 for the year.  If interested please contact agonzal4@swarthmore.edu.
