Job summary

The Women Development Manager will manage and coordinator all women’s player development within the HKRFU player development framework. He/ She will work closely the Head of Elite Coach Development and Head of Elite Player Development with all national representative squads and coaches to establish a common HKRFU skill and technical development framework specifically for the Development of Women’s rugby in HK. Also to provide direct support and strategic direction to the HKRFU Women’s Committee.

Specific responsibilities

  • To implement, manage and direct relevant aspects of the Women’s Rugby Development structure. To be responsible for the following specific areas: National Women’s XVs programmes, National Women’s Performance Players, NAG Girls Programmes.
  • To manage and co-ordinate the National HKRFU Girls Academy Structure: liaising with the Head of Elite Coach Development to ensure that best practice is being implemented across the Academy Units with relevant key performance indicators
  • To line manage the Girls National Age Grade annual programme: liaising with regional Head Coaches and team managers to ensure a consistent standard of selection process, competition and opportunity
  • To ensure that, working closely with the community dept. the integrated rugby development structure and pathway is developed and implemented, balancing the needs of the participation and performance elements within their remit.
  • To develop (with the Head of Elite Coach Development) and implement a cohesive female Rugby skills curriculum that delivers improved standards at mini, youth, national academy and senior club level.
  • To coach or coach co-ordinate a specific team(s) within the HKRFU player development structure as agreed on an annual basis with the GM, Rugby Performance. This will enhance continued professional development under the HKRFU development objectives.
  • To manage the development of the women’s domestic league structure in close partnership with the HKRFU Women’s Committee
  • To monitor and support the week to week management of the women’s domestic league.

Your profile

  • Degree holder or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 Years in a leading role in Player Development
  • IRB Level 3 Coaching Certificate
  • Ability to identify potential performance players, manage national representative coaching teams and coach international development teams
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholder salary offered will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
