American University Women’s Rugby is searching for an assistant coach for their upcoming 2015-2016 season. AUWRFC is a competitive DII collegiate club team that plays in both the fall and the spring. Practices are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5PM-7PM (4PM-6PM once Daylight Savings Time ends) in the Tenleytown area. During the season, games are scheduled for Saturday mornings and hosted at fields throughout the MD/DC/VA area. Any travel or lodging expenses for the coach will be covered by the team.
From 2014-2015 AUWRFC had an outstanding winning streak: capturing second place at Ruggerfest as well as competing in the Round of 16 at DII College National Championships in the spring of 2014. The team is composed of hard-working and motivated young women, all eager to learn and play rugby. Normally, our team has 35 girls. This is a mix of around 20 returners as well as new players that join each year through heavy recruitment. There is a lot of talent on this team and we hope this season will prove to be another successful year. Note: no prior coaching experience is necessary!
