County Will Morrigans sport quality women’s rugby with family feel

Athletics always have played a part in Lauren Ebeling’s life.

“I grew up competing in horseback riding,” the 2010 Lincoln-Way East graduate said. “My mom owned a stable in Mokena.

“Then when I was a sophomore in high school, tryouts were announced for soccer, and I thought I would give it a try. I wound up playing all through high school.”

She was ready to continue her education at DePaul University, and that was not going to change. Yet the urge for something fun, athletic and competitive in her life was not about to vanish.

Why not rugby? The local women’s team, the County Wlll Morrigans, always welcome reinforcements, and Ebeling says the decision to join was one of the best she ever has made.
