In the opening week of the 2016 WPL season, Atlanta hosted the Twin City Amazons. Atlanta took the lead first after they slotted a penalty but was chasing from that point on. It was an incredibly windy day, both teams took advantage of the wind when they had it, but the Amazons chipped away at the Atlanta defense. They eventually topped Atlanta 38-17.
