Applications are invited for the above 3-year fixed term , full-time post based at  Canolfan Brailsford, Bangor University

In partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union, Bangor University is seeking a committed and qualified rugby coach to lead the development of rugby at Bangor University, local clubs and schools. As lead coach for Bangor University Women’s Rugby, the incumbent will be supported by the University sport development team and the WRU regional network to create a work programme that drives the growth and retention of players in rugby as well as the development of other coaches and volunteers.

The creation of a positive, bilingual and welcoming environment to new players will be a key determinant of success in the role as will the development of local leagues and competitions.

The role will combine regular hands-on coaching delivery alongside development work in a range of educational environments.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.

The Project

The Rugby Hub Officer programme is a national programme of partnerships between the Welsh Rugby Union and schools, colleges and Universities. Based at Bangor University, the Hub Officer will not only deliver a coaching programme for University students, they will develop the local rugby workforce and volunteer base

Purpose of the Job

Promote the development and playing of the game of rugby union football Bangor University and local clubs. Maximising participation and retention in rugby for all students, with an emphasis on women’s rugby.
