Two action-packed days of amazing international rugby, set in a beautiful Caribbean island paradise!
The second annual Rugby Barbados World 7s is taking place December 9-10, 2017 at Trents Playing Field, near historic Holetown St. James, Barbados. Along with a highly competitive tournament featuring powerhouse teams, Saint Lawrence Gap (The Gap), where the teams will be staying, is famous for its fine restaurants, diverse accommodation, lively nightlife and good shopping.
Pre-tournament activities include a charity dinner with an international rugby guest speaker (stay tuned for details!) and a fan/team meet-and-greet at a nearby beach.
The tournament takes place over two days with teams from all over the world in the men’s and women’s brackets. Returning women’s champions Rugby Ecosse Feminin (Scotland) and men’s champions Northeast Academy (USA) will be back to defend their titles.
d=Following the success of the 2016 tournament, word about the Rugby Barbados World 7s has spread far and wide, with many of the teams intending to return, and new teams from the USA, Canada, Wales, Scotland and France signing up for the 2017 edition. The post-tournament activities include the Tournament Fancy Dress After Party (free for teams), Team Carol-Singing Competition, the Monday Beach Beer-Brunch (also free for teams), a Jolly Roger Cruise (US$ 10.00 pp for teams) and more!
The entry fee is only $500 (US) per team, which covers all of your match-day transportation and facilities as well as most of your post-tournament entertainment.
Teams will be fighting for the Rugby Barbados World 7s title AND $3000 (US) in prize money for the Men’s & Women’s Open Divisions.
