Nash Bash Rugby Tournament 2008

About the Bash
(from Nash Bash Rugby’s website here.)

For 26 years now, rugby clubs from all across North America have traveled to Nashville for this extraordinary event. Held in late March, the Bash continues to provide both men’s and women’s teams with a high quality, entertaining weekend of rugby, At the 2007 Bash, almost SEVENTY teams enjoyed the exceptional weather, great competition and seven pitches of non-stop rugby from sun up to sun down. We are expecting nothing less in 2008!

On the men’s side, the Bash’s festival format pits teams of similar ability but different geographic regions together to create matches that would not occur during regular season play. Every side plays one game a day, ensuring that all matches are of the highest quality. Our scheduling committee prides itself on placing teams in evenly matched, competitive games.

The women’s tournament is one of the largest in the country, and again offers teams a chance to play a number of clubs from distant geographic locations. We have both a club and a college division with prizes awarded to the top finishers. Nash Bash provides an excellent opportunity for clubs in cooler climates to get in some warm-up games before the start of the season, and teams from warmer parts the chance to size up possible playoff competition.

The referee core assembled will be top notch as always, with many of the highest level refs in the country calling the games. We provide on-site professional training and medical staff. There will be rugby equipment and apparel on sale as well. Also, we’ll have live music and an outstanding social as well as photographers and videographers on-site to capture all the great rugby moments. Make plans to attend the Bash and find out why this is North America’s Premier Rugby Festival.

**I am in Houston, TX for the Texas Rugby Union Senior Selectside tryouts, but if you have any game updates, pics or thoughts…leave it in the comments.

**UPDATE: It looks like the Nash Bash website is down, please leave scores in the comments if your team attended!

**Update from Facebook on the Your Scrumhalf Connection profile: Nashville was fun as always, but at 9am sunday, the tournament director cancelled all games after noon b/c a storm appeared to be approaching. It never rained, and no championship games were played. Atlanta would have been in the finals with either Detroit or Northshore (who tied).

  1. Hi Wendy

There’s a bizarre blog-led game of tag doing the rounds so (sorry to do this to you) consider yourself TAGGED!

There’s more info on my blog at http://totalflanker.blogspot.com/2008/03/tagged.html.

I wasn’t sure it was really my sort of thing but once you get started it’s almost fun 🙂

Don’t worry if it’s not your cup of tea though…

    cheers
