USA Rugby Women’s D1 Challenge Matches

An anonymous commenter asked about the Challenge Matches for 2008 so here you go! I have been meaning to write about it for awhile, but hadn’t seen anything updated on the USA site.

February 1, 2008: Challenging Territories must officially announce intent to challenge and name teams who will be representing the TU.
February 15, 2008: Challenged Territory/ Team must officially accept or reject challenges.
February 29, 2008: Dates for all challenge matches must be set and officially announced.

#20 at #13 = So Cal #3 (Scottsdale) v MARFU #3 (NOVA)
#19 at #14= Midwest #4 (Chicago) v West #1 (Kansas City Jazz)
#18 at #15 = So Cal #2 (Belmont Shore) v Pac Coast #3 (Emerald City Mudhens)
#17 at #16 = Northeast #4 (Boston) v West #2 (Glendale)

Kansas City Jazz vs Chicago
NO Challenge requested, the West will maintain that seed.

NOVA vs Scottsdale
NO Challenge requested, MARFU will maintain that seed.

Emerald City Mudhens vs Belmont Shore – April 19, 2008
This Saturday (April 19, 2008) the Mudhens are being challenged by Belmont Shore for the Pacific Coast #3 seed to the Sweet 16’s national tournament. Needless to say this is going to be an intense and hard-fought match!
