After a successful inaugural National Invitational Sevens Championship, Rugby Canada is pleased to announce the 2012 National Invitational Sevens Championship. Rugby Canada, the CIS and its member institutions are working towards creating synergy and alignment with all university rugby programs across Canada. This document will provide your team with important information regarding this year’s 2012 National Invitational Sevens Championship. While this year’s tournament is not officially sanctioned by the CIS, the CIS is fully supportive and endorses this event.

As Rugby Sevens is now an Olympic Sport, it is more important than ever to ensure our young athletes are continuing to develop their skills and stay involved with Rugby Sevens. A CIS / Rugby Canada National Invitational University Sevens Championship will also work to provide an ideal platform at which National Selectors can assess and select talented Rugby Sevens athletes from across the country to train and compete at both the National and International levels.

In 2012 National Invitational Sevens Championship will take place at City Centre Park in Langford, BC on March 2nd & 3rd, 2012.
