WANTED: Maryland Stingers Seek Head Coach for D2 Club

The Maryland Stingers Women’s Rugby Football Club is currently looking for a new head coach for the Spring 2012 season. We are in search of a qualified coach, ideally with some coaching experience at the club or collegiate level (men or women), who can commit to weekly practices and games. The head coach will be responsible for designing and implementing practices, selecting the lineup for games based on team criteria, and communicating with players, including providing feedback to develop the individual and team game. The club will cover all travel and coach development expenses, and will pay a small stipend. We are in search of a coach who is USA Rugby certified or who is working towards being certified.

The Maryland Stingers are based in College Park, Maryland and are a member of the Potomac Rugby Union. We are a growing women’s rugby team that competes in Division II MARFU. We practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and play a competitive schedule against teams in MD, DC, VA, PA, and NC. We have many young and talented players that range in experience from beginners to seasoned vets. Our immediate goals are to increase our competitiveness at the DII level and to develop a successful game plan with the help of a new head coach.
