Canadian Inter University Sports (CIS) Womens Rugby End of Week 4

This week we see a number of changes in the top ten Lethbridge drops out of the third spot down to 6th after a 38-17 loss to the University of Calgary. Calgary moves up from 7th into 5th. Queens and Laval move up one spot to round out the top four behind St FX and Guelph. Alberta swaps spots with McGill and Acadia remains in 1oth.

Looking at this past weekend’s games, fullback Magali Harvey is on pace to break the AUS single season scoring record (135) currently held by former X-Woman Courtnay Malcolm, set in 2008. Harvey scored 27 points on the weekend, bringing her to 118, surpassing former StFX standout Ghislaine Landry (112 points in 2008) for second place on the AUS record list.

Harvey scored 19 points (1 try and 7 conversions) Saturday evening in StFX’s 81-0 win over Saint Mary’s on home turf at StFX Oland Stadium. The X-Women led 38-0 at half-time. Brett Benn still leads the OUA with 13 tries and 65 points.
