WPL Match Summary & Video – Beantown v. Keystone by McGhee

A cold and blustery day greeted the players of Beantown and Keystone as they faced off in the final game of the season for both teams. Everyone knew this would be a tough physical match, and that proved to be true. The wind made things difficult, and for the first 20 minutes there was no score. However, Keystone then kicked to Katie O’Malley of Beantown, who passed it off to Ashley Clancy who then made a beautiful 90 meter sprint to the try zone. Kick was no good, making it 5-0 Beantown. Keystone answered quickly with a try of their own, making it 5 all. Keystone then made a good run with their backs, scoring another try and putting them up 12-5 at the half.

In the second half, Beantown scored another try relatively quickly, and with a good kick it was again all tied up at 12. Keystone followed with a try, but their kick was no good, making it 17-12 Keystone. Beantown buckled down and their backs put the ball between the posts, and the good kick put Beantown up 19-17. Beantown then turned over a Keystone lineout and the forwards drove in a try. Kick was just missed and the score was 24-17 Beantown. Beantown was able to put one more in the corner, giving the game a final score of 29-17 Beantown. See you at Nationals!
