The Glendale Raptors and New York’s Blue Machine met on the turf pitch at Infinity Park, Sunday. The Raptors were coming into the match No. 1 in the WPL and NY at the bottom of the leaderboard.

New York came out hitting hard and looking to disrupt Glendale’s patterns of play. They were focused, but seemed to have difficulty reading the Glendale lineup. The Raptors were able to recover and adapt to New York’s style of play, and Erin Overcash got scoring started with a breakaway try.

The Raptors scored 45 unanswered points and were poised to continue on that trend for the remained of the second half – until referee Kurt Weaver issued a yellow card on one of the Glendale players. IT was the break New York had been looking for – they tried just after the sin binned player left the pitch.

The Raptors collected themselves, regrouped and went back to playing their patterns as the game clock wound down. The final score on the day was 52-5, Raptors.

Glendale try scorers include: Overcash (2), Miller, Wilson, Burke, Prescott, Houston and Koeppen. Glendale Captain Hannah Stolba also had a great match with six conversions.
