MSU-Moorhead defeats Colgate – 2015 NSCRO Championships

MSU-Moorhead defeated Univ. of Mass.-Dartmouth 54-0 on their way to the 2015 NSCRO Championships. They faced Colgate UNiversity who survived a close match with Lee University 32-24. Watch the semi-final videos from Gift-time Rugby.

In the Championship match on December 6, Colgate struck first with a quick try in the corner, it was unconverted. Twelve minutes later, MSU-Moorhead also touched down a try in the corner that was unconverted. At five all, play continued but was quite sloppy as the teams continued to feel each other out. MSU-M was able to touch down again 10 minutes before the half as their forwards punched it in.

Colgate wasn’t done yet though and after a quick tap on a penalty, made it 22-12 at the half, MSU-Moorhead held a small lead. Colgate really took advantage of the quick tap penalties and scored another to make it 27-17. From this point, Colgate was able to get one more try in but MSU-Moorhead showed their fitness and topped off the final scoreline to be 44-24.
