This year we’ve combined the Women’s Club Rugby standings as they travel to the same regional playoffs and National Championship. The 2015-2016 D1 & D2 seasons are well underway and we’ve got all the teams and standings for you! The league remains unchanged and is split into eight competitive regions. Overall we are looking at about 20-25 D1 teams and 30-25 D2 in the country, divided into two Leagues.
The Western half of the country is competing in the American Conference and the Eastern half in the National Conference. Within each league there will be four distinct Conferences, with the winners of each Conference advancing to the League Semi Finals, and the two League Champions competing in the National Championship in late spring. There are a few exceptions to the conferences, for instance, Denver Black Ice are an Independent.
Last year in D1, the Seattle Saracens defeated Beantown 31-24 for the USA Rugby D1 Women’s Club Rugby title. Seattle will look to defend their title this year and will continue to prepare by playing in the British Columbia league (more details below).
Last year in D2, Wisconsin defeated the Sacramento Amazons 38-23 for the USA Rugby D2 Women’s Club Rugby Championship. Sacramento led early in the match but Wisconsin battled back for the win.
