Olympic 7s Repechage – Schedule & Results

The Olympic Repechage kicks off in Dublin, Ireland next weekend June 25-26, 2016.

Russia are the top seeds for the repechage tournament in Dublin, but hosts Ireland and Spain will also fancy their chances of claiming the last spot at Rio 2016. The women’s sevens at the Games will take place from 6-8 August in Deodoro Olympic Park with the men’s event running from 9-11 August at the same venue.

Also note that the best placed team – not including Russia or Spain (who have already qualified) will win a place in the 2016/17 World Series, a tournament which will itself be a qualifier for the 2018 sevens World Cup.

Pool A features Russia, Samoa, Zimbabwe and Madagascar. Pool B includes Spain, Mexico, Venezuela and Tunisia. Hosts Ireland are in challenging pool C with China, Portugal and Trinidad and Tobago. Lastly, Pool D pits Hong Kong, Argentina, Kazakhstan and the Cook Islands.
