Irish Rugby Tours has partnered with USA Rugby to become the USA Women’s Eagles’ Official Rugby Tour Operator for Women’s Rugby World Cup 2017 in Ireland.
The support of the leading sports tour operator in Ireland will allow the U.S. national team to hold an extended training camp at Trinity College, Dublin, ahead of the Aug. 9-26 world championship. The Eagles will also benefit from Irish Rugby Tours’ offerings to clubs, colleges, and high schools in the United States, receiving a royalty share for tours booked through the renowned program.
“We are excited about the partnership with Irish Rugby Tours and grateful for the support of the Women’s Eagles and their journey to the World Cup,” USA Rugby CEO Dan Payne said. “Irish Rugby Tours is the leading European tour operator for U.S. rugby teams and has worked with a number of our national teams over the years. We have individual, group, and team packages that will give our supporters exclusive access to the team and provide a unique experience.”
BOOK A TOUR & SUPPORT THE EAGLES
The Eagles are scheduled to train in Southern California in the middle stages of the summer, and will travel to Ireland early thanks to the sponsorship of Irish Rugby Tours. On top of transportation support throughout the term of the World Cup, Irish Rugby Tours will cover all costs – including meals and rugby fees – during the pre-World Cup training camp.
Founded in 1998, Irish Rugby Tours provides unrivalled support for rugby clubs traveling abroad. From the organization of flights, ground transportation, and accommodation to connecting clubs with potential on-field opponents, Irish Rugby Tours ensures players and coaches can focus on the game of rugby rather than the logistics of touring.
Irish Rugby Tours’ network of coaches and knowledge of clubs in Ireland and Europe also guarantee traveling teams are matched up with opposition of a similar standard. Off of the field, teams are also treated to a one-of-a-kind cultural experience to complement game play.
“Throughout my time at Penn State and with the Eagles I’ve constantly been looking for new and high-level experiences for my players,” Eagles Head Coach Pete Steinberg said. “Irish Rugby Tours eased the search for my staff and I by connecting us with clubs and cultures across Europe, and have done so with countless other American programs through the years. It’s great to have their continued support with the national team as we prepare for the biggest stage yet at the Women’s Rugby World Cup.”
The Eagles will receive a monetary sum to support World Cup costs when American team tours are booked through Irish Rugby Tours using a unique USA Rugby code. More information can be found on Irish Rugby Tours’ website.
