World Rugby has confirmed the scheduled for the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina, October 13-15 at the Club Atletico San Isidro, sede La Boya.

The schedule sees six women’s teams play five round-robin games before placing games during the sixth and final competition session on 15 October when the medals will be decided. You can view all of the women’s fixtures here: https://www.world.rugby/tournament/1908/fixtures.

World Rugby and the International Olympic Committee have confirmed the Olympic qualification pathway for Tokyo 2020. Twelve teams will compete for medals from July 27 to August 1 at Tokyo Stadium.

Japan has secured automatic qualification for being the host city, four teams from the 2019 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, and six teams will qualify World Rugby regional association Olympic qualification tournaments.

Regional association tournaments will take place in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania and South America from June-December 2019. The top ranked team from each regional tournament will secure qualification.

The final opportunity for Olympic qualification will be at the World Rugby Olympic Repechage tournament. Twelve teams, comprising of the next two highest ranked teams based on 2019 regional qualification rankings from each region, will be invited to participate in these Olympic repechage tournaments.

The Rugby Football Union (RFU) is giving out 28 full-time contracts, which will come into effect on 1 January. The 28 contracts will be supplemented by seven EPS agreements, meaning a total elite player squad (EPS) of 35.

With immediate effect, the squad will be based at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre during core periods, providing a permanent base within a high-performance training centre.

Ana Maria Roqica hopes to make the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team again in the World Rugby Women Sevens Series which starts in Glendale, Colorado, U.S.A on October 20-21.

The Vativa, Wailevu, Cakaudrove native, who has been the regular captain of the team since 2011, attended the trials at the University of the South Pacific ground yesterday under interim coach Ro Alivereti Doviverata.

The IRFU Women’s Inter-provincial Championship had another nail-biting finish tonight as Leinster regained the title thanks to a dramatic 14-14 draw with defending champions Munster at Energia Park, Donnybrook.

The 2018 RTEK Rugby Americas North (RAN) Sevens are taking plcae in Barbados this weekend. Teams from 14 Caribbean countries, plus Mexico, will be vying for the Men’s and Women’s titles, with a spot at the 2019 Hong Kong Sevens Sevens World Series Qualification tournament and the 2019 Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru, awaiting both winners.

The pools and match schedule have been announced for the HSBC USA Women’s Sevens in Glendale, CO. With teams returning to action for the first time since Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 in July, the stage is set for a thrilling weekend in Colorado with the HSBC World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series the first step on the road to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Defending series champions Australia will face Russia, Spain and Mexico in Pool A.

Rugby World Cup Sevens winners New Zealand are joined in Pool B by hosts USA, returning core team China and England.

France and Canada, who finished third and fourth respectively in the 2018 series, take their place in Pool C alongside Fiji and Ireland.
