Another huge week in the women’s rugby space. Our highlights this week include the USA vs Barbarians match, Saracens have defeated Harlequins to defended their Tyrrells Premier title, Canada won with a last gasp spy against England, Australia has named an extended squad ahead of their summer tests and the pressure is on Ireland to qualify for 2021 WRWC says Fiona Steed.   • Barbarians defeated USA in an epic matchup, 34-33
  • Saracens defeated the Harlequins and defended their Tyrrells Premier title, 33-17
  • Canada won and we’ve got tons of coverage on highlights, dream team and all the other matches
  • The spotlight continues on Ireland as Fiona Steed chimes in that their fight to qualify for the 2021 WRWC is a “opportunity for the team to get their house in order.”
  • Australia names an extended roster ahead of their two test series in Auckland against Japan in July
  • Rugby Africa has canceled their Gold Cup Tournament due to financial strains. The statement indicated that RA will hold the Olympic qualifiers for men and women for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games as well as the first African qualifier tournament for the 2021 Women’s Rugby World Cup.
  • Heather Fisher has retired from England but has been featured on a reality TV show SAS SU2C
  • USA Rugby announces an annual plan and corresponding 2019 schedule for its women’s age-grade programs including High School (U18) and Collegiate All-American sevens and fifteens, as well as Under-20s
  • USA’s NSCRO collegiate competition announces plans for a women’s 15s Select Side
  • The Golden Oldies Rugby Tournament is has been on the books for years but they’re seeking more women’s teams to join
  • Emma Black talks about her season with Strathmore RFC Women, her rugby beginnings and growing the game in Scotland
