The Harlequins overcame Leinster 47-26 in front of 7,514 supporters at Twickenham. This was the first time the Harlequins – who are top of the domestic Tyrrell’s Premier 15s competition – have been involved in the annual ‘Big Game’ day the men’s side hold annually.

The Energia Women’s All-Ireland League is will expand to from eight to ten teams and the format is slightly changed for the 2020/21 season. There will be no promotion and relegation this year but it will be introduced at the end of the season next year.
The two new teams are Wicklow and Ballincollig. Ballincollig is returning to the league after leaving in 2018 while Wicklow is completely new to this level of competition.

Canada has announced their U18 side to face USA in the Can-Am tour, December 26-30 in Chula Vista, CA. The team was selected after a series of regional identification camps and competition throughout 2019. This will be the only international tour for the U18 team this year.

The Solomon Islands held its inaugural Get Into Rugby (GIR) tag rugby festival with more than 200 girls and boys, between the ages of 9 and 17, at the Town Ground Rugby Stadium in Honiara.
The festival came about as a result of a partnership between the Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation (SIRUF) and the Australian government and is designed to create a pathway for young girls and boys to experience and enjoy the game.
