tl;dr: World Rugby announced an updated schedule for HSBC 7s and the rescheduled Rugby World Cup 2021 Europe Qualifier.
Featured Women’s Rugby News
World Rugby has announced an updated HSBC 7s schedule. Hong Kong and Paris are out. The women will only have what they’re calling “fast-four” tournaments in Canada, with Vancouver on September 18-19 followed by Edmonton on September 25-26. Seems like a fancy way of trying to say that there will only be two women’s events.
We also now know the dates for the rescheduled Rugby World Cup 2021 Europe qualifier. Italy will host on September 13, 19 and 25, 2021. The winner of the RWC 2021 Europe Qualifier will secure a place at Rugby World Cup 2021 tournament. Italy will compete against Ireland, Scotland and the winners of Rugby Europe’s Women’s Championship 2020, Spain, in a round robin format. The top team will book a spot in Group B at Rugby World Cup 2021 and the runner up will enter the Final Qualification Tournament.
