2024 Challenger Series – Krakow: Schedule, Viewing Options, and Results – May 18-19

Get ready for the third and final round round of the women’s World Rugby HSBC Sevens Challenger 2024 in Poland! The top four teams in the standings will advance to the Play-off tournament, set for May 31 – June 2. They will face the bottom four teams from the HSBC SVNS 2024: Japan, Brazil, South Africa, and Spain.

China, leading the standings, will compete in Pool A against Czechia, Hong Kong China, and Thailand.

Hong Kong China and Czechia begin the tournament in eighth and ninth places, with their chances of qualifying for Madrid already dashed.

Thailand still has a mathematical chance to reach Madrid but starts the weekend 10 points behind fourth-placed Belgium, making their prospects slim.

In Pool C, Belgium, Kenya, and hosts Poland all have hopes of finishing the Challenger within the top four.

Kenya, despite reaching the final in Dubai (where they lost to China), arrive in Krakow four points behind the top four after an eighth-place finish in their last outing.

Poland, two points further back, has had a disappointing campaign so far. The 2022 runners-up finished sixth in Dubai and fifth in Montevideo. They must make a strong showing at their home tournament to break into the top four.

Mexico, currently at the bottom of the women’s standings, completes the Pool C lineup and will aim to end the 2024 Challenger on a high note ahead of the World Rugby Sevens Repechage in Monaco next month, which will determine the final qualifier for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
