WXV Competition 2024 – A Global Showcase
The 2024 WXV competition promises to be an exhilarating showcase, building up to the 2025 Rugby World Cup. Spanning three weekends from September 27 to October 12, the tournament will feature 27 matches across Vancouver, South Africa, and Dubai. Broadcast details are yet to be confirmed but we’re assuming it will follow last year and be streamed for free on RugbyPass TV. Sign up for a free account today!
WXV 1 (Vancouver): Reigning champions England will defend their title. The competition kicks off with a triple-header at BC Place, featuring England vs. USA and Canada vs. France. Ireland, after a stellar Six Nations performance, joins the top level, culminating in a final showdown between England and Canada.
WXV 2 (South Africa): Hosts South Africa will open against Japan. With Australia and Wales making their debut in this tier, the matches against Italy and Scotland will be thrilling, with the final match between Australia and Scotland highlighting the tier.
WXV 3 (Dubai): Focused on securing the last two World Cup spots, Spain, Fiji, the Netherlands, Hong Kong China, Samoa, and Madagascar will compete. With Fiji already qualified, the remaining teams will vie for the final positions in an exciting cross-pool format.
