The 2024 Japan Rugby Challenge Series will be a two-match event held in Kitakyushu and Shizuoka, featuring crucial encounters between Japan and the United States on August 11 and 17. These games mark their first meetings on Japanese soil and their first encounters outside of the Women’s Rugby World Cup. The USA currently leads the head-to-head 2-0, with their most recent match in October 2022 at the delayed 2021 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand
As both teams prepare for the upcoming WXV in late September and the 2025 Rugby World Cup, these matches serve as vital preparation. Japan is making its 6th appearance at the RWC, while the USA, who has never missed a tournament, is entering its 10th.
