2024-25 USA Club Women’s Rugby: Leagues, Playoffs, Super Regionals and National Championships

The 2024-25 USA Club Women’s Rugby season is officially underway! The start of the season varies by region—teams in the East typically kick off in the fall, while the West gets going in the spring. Through our continuing partnership with The Rugby Breakdown and the USA Club Rugby, we’re excited to bring you our comprehensive guide and weekly standings for the 2024-25 season.

How We Track Standings

We pull standings from USA Rugby’s Competition Management System (CMS) Rugby Xplorer (RX), so if clubs or unions aren’t updating there, our weekly posts may be incomplete—we can only share what’s available at the time.

What to Expect

We’ll keep you informed on Union Playoffs, Super Regionals, and National Championships as the season unfolds.

Looking for Monthly Recaps?

Kat Roche’s USA Club Rugby Monthly Recaps break down each division, covering all the action from competitions leading into Super Regionals and Club Nationals. These updates rely on club-entered scores in RX—so if something seems off, check RX or your Geographical Union for final updates.

Super Regional Championships

Super Regional events are key in the USA Club Rugby XVs National Championship pathway, with each of the four regions (Pacific, Northern, Gulf Coast, and Atlantic) determining a champion to advance to the National Finals.

Each region establishes its own format, potentially involving a Round of 16 or Quarterfinal structure. Unions within a region may also opt to crown regional champions within the Super Regionals. The event acts as the first round of the National Championship Series, and winners move on to the National Finals. Unions are encouraged to make multi-year hosting agreements, and in some cases, Super Regional champions may compete against each other before the finals, with approval from the Senior Club Competitions Committee.

D1

Atlantic

  • May 3-4 in Newport, RI

Gulf Coast

  • Apr 12 in Dallas, TX
  • With no other D1 teams in the Gulf Coast, the top two Red River teams will compete in the RRRC Championship Final on April 12, 2025. The winner moves on to the USA Rugby National Playoffs (Semifinals) on May 16, 2025.

Northern

  • November 9-10, in Lemont, IL
  • With no other D1 teams in the Northern region, the top two teams will compete in the Championship Final on November 10, 2025. The winner moves on to the USA Rugby National Playoffs (Semifinals) on May 16, 2025.

Pacific | RX

  • April 25-27 in Henderson, NV
    • *Will include SoCal/Southwest, NorCal, PNW, and Frontier teams for 2024-25

D2

Atlantic

  • May 3-4 in Newport, RI

Gulf Coast

  • May 3-4 in Mandeville, LA

 Northern

  • May 3-4 in Springfield, MO

Pacific

  • April 25-27 in Henderson, NV

D3

Atlantic is set to host a D3 Super Regional May 2–4 in Newport, Rhode Island, bringing together teams from Empire, NERFU, Capital, and Eastern PA. Four unions, one bracket, and a shot at the Atlantic D3 title on the line.

It mirrors the Super Regionals format we’re seeing in the other divisions, and we love to see it. More structure, more opportunity, and more high-stakes matches for D3 women’s rugby—it’s a win all around.

USA Club Rugby XVs National Championships

The USA Rugby Club XVs National Championships are set for May 16-18, 2025 at Kuntz Soccer & Sports Complex in Indianapolis, IN. Teams from Division 1 and Division 2 will battle for the prestigious championship titles, with Division 1 matches scheduled for Friday afternoon and Division 2 games on Saturday. The finals for both divisions will culminate on Sunday.

This year’s seeding means that Atlantic will take on Gulf Coast and Northern will take on Pacific.

In the 2024 edition, NOVA claimed victory in the D1 division, while the D2 title went to Tampa Bay Crew.

D1

Bracket’s shaping up: we’ll know the Pacific seed after April 27 and the Atlantic rep after May 4.

D2

Bracket’s coming together—we’ll have all the qualified teams after the Pacific Super Regional on April 27 and the remaining three on May 4.
