The University of New Haven women’s rugby program is looking for a Graduate Assistant starting in the fall of 2025. The Women’s Rugby Graduate Assistant will assist in coaching and managing the rugby team, and perform a variety of background tasks that are essential for the team’s success. This position offers tuition for graduate school and a small stipend.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist in organizing and executing team practices and game strategy
- Analyze game footage and provide feedback to coaches and players
- Provide academic support and monitor student-athletes’ progress towards degree completion
- Assisting with recruiting efforts, including organizing campus visits, academic evaluations, scouting, and communicating with prospective student-athletes
- Coordinate team travel arrangements, including finding hotels and restaurants for meals
- Assist with fundraising and community outreach efforts
- Manage social media accounts and produce consistent content to promote the team
- Manage study hall hours
- Log all CARA hours appropriately in ARMS
- Liaise with NIRA for game day rosters and match management
- Support head coach with administrative tasks such as event planning, scheduling, data entry, and anything else that arises
- Assist with alumnae engagement efforts, including organizing events and communication with former players
- Participate in individual player feedback and academic check-ins
- Assist with management of team and individual stats
- Assist student manager as needed, when they are not present ensure their duties are fulfilled
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Strong knowledge and passion for rugby
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Must be enrolled in a graduate program
- Knowledge of NCAA rules
