Jillion Potter has never backed down from a challenge. Whether it was captaining the USA Olympic Rugby Sevens team, battling her way back to the pitch after a broken neck, or taking on stage 3 Synovial Sarcoma, Jill has always met adversity with the same unrelenting determination. And now, she’s facing another fight—one that her rugby family and friends are rallying behind her for.
Jill’s Latest Battle
Our dear friend Jill is undergoing her sixth round of chemotherapy. After more than a decade of surgeries, radiation, chemo, and clinical trials, her cancer is now considered non-curative. This means her treatment plan is focused on controlling recurrence and preventing further spread—all while ensuring she maintains the quality of life she so fiercely protects.
She’s built a life around the things she loves: her two babies, traveling with family and friends, drinking excellent coffee, and filling her days with smiles and laughter. The goal is simple—we want to help Jill focus on what matters most instead of worrying about medical bills, travel costs, or daily expenses.
How We Can Help
Jill’s community is vast—rugby players, coffee lovers, outdoor adventurers, and everyone who’s been inspired by her strength. We’re asking you to be part of that team once again.
We’re raising funds to help cover:
- $10,000 for travel costs to Houston for oncology appointments
- $25,000 for medical expenses beyond her deductible
- $5,000 for acupuncture, massage, and alternative treatments
- $5,000 for her move back to Denver (travel, packing, storage, home essentials)
- $5,000 for daily expenses (childcare, house cleaning, food, kids’ toys, and more)
Every contribution—big or small—makes a difference.
Jill’s Unbreakable Spirit
If you know Jill, you know she refuses to let anything define her except her own grit and passion. In 2014, when she was first diagnosed with cancer, she continued training and made history by competing at the 2016 Rio Olympics. In 2022, after multiple surgeries and rounds of chemo, she launched Helm Coffee Roasters, turning her love for coffee into a thriving business.
Now, in the midst of her latest fight, Jill is preparing for another transition—moving back to Colorado and selling Helm to focus on her family and health. It’s a big shift, but if anyone can navigate it with strength and grace, it’s Jill.
Be Part of Jill’s Team
Jill has given so much to her communities—whether through rugby, coffee, or simply being the fiercely loyal friend we all know and love. Now, it’s our turn to give back.
Join us in making sure Jill has everything she needs to keep focusing on the things that bring her joy. Share her story, donate if you can, and keep sending her love and support.
Jill, we’re with you.
