Preserving the Legacy: The Most Complete Archive of Women’s Rugby World Cup Stats

When it comes to women’s rugby, the stories live in every tackle, every try, and every hard-fought minute on the pitch. But too often, those stories have been left out of the official record. That’s starting to change.

Thanks to the dedication of rugby historians and fans who care deeply about the women’s game, we now have one of the most complete public archives of Women’s Rugby World Cup stats. And we’re proud to host it here on YSCRugby.

The archive traces the full history of the tournament, beginning with the inaugural World Cup in 1991 and continuing through to 2021. It includes detailed match results, player appearances, scoring stats, top performances, and rare matchups that shaped the course of the game.

Some of this data was once hosted by ScrumQueens, a trusted source for the women’s game. With their closure earlier this year, we wanted to make sure this information didn’t disappear. These stats deserve to be seen, cited, and shared, and we’re committed to keeping them online and accessible.

This remarkable collection wouldn’t exist without the work of Daniel Bamber (@hitchikerspie.bsky.social‬), Stu Farmer (@stu-farmer.bsky.social‬), and @womensrugbydata.bsky.social‬. Their commitment to documenting the game’s history is a gift to everyone who loves and follows women’s rugby.

We’ve created a permanent home for this archive on YSCRugby. The dedicated page includes key stats like top scorers, milestone matches, and championship records. We’ve also linked to both original spreadsheets so readers can explore the full data themselves. It’s a living project that will continue to grow, and we’re honored to help give it the visibility it deserves.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan, a new supporter, or a researcher digging into the roots of the game, this archive offers something special. It’s not just numbers,  it’s history, legacy, and proof of what women’s rugby has always been: powerful, enduring, and worth remembering.
