The HSBC SVNS 2026 Series, the top tier of a new three-division global sevens model, launches the season with the Emirates Dubai 7s from November 29–30, 2025. Defending the women’s title at this stop will be Australia, who won the previous event in a thrilling final against New Zealand. Key Season Details
- Champions: Teams will be vying for the titles held by the reigning HSBC SVNS World Champions, South Africa (Men) and New Zealand (Women), after their victories in the 2025 World Championship in Los Angeles.
- New Format: This year introduces a simplified, two-day event format for each regular-season stop.
- The top-tier women’s teams for the 2026 Series are: Australia, Canada, Fiji, France, Great Britain, Japan, New Zealand, USA.
- Gender Parity: Full gender parity remains at the core, with combined men’s and women’s events and equal participation across all rounds.

What’s at Stake
The three-event HSBC SVNS World Championship will determine the overall annual World Champions.
This competition will feature a total of 12 teams per gender, composed of:
- Eight teams from the top-tier SVNS Division 1 (whose core status guarantees their place).
- Four qualifiers from the second-tier SVNS Division 2.
This new format locks in the destinations for the next three years, providing a clear pathway for emerging nations through the three-tier system toward the LA 2028 Olympics:
- SVNS 3: Feeds only into SVNS 2.
- SVNS 2: Must qualify (top four teams) to compete for World Championship inclusion.
- SVNS 1: Guaranteed entry to the World Championship events.
