  • Champions: Teams will be vying for the titles held by the reigning HSBC SVNS World Champions, South Africa (Men) and New Zealand (Women), after their victories in the 2025 World Championship in Los Angeles.

  • The top-tier women’s teams for the 2026 Series are: Australia, Canada, Fiji, France, Great Britain, Japan, New Zealand, USA.

What’s at Stake

The three-event HSBC SVNS World Championship will determine the overall annual World Champions.

This competition will feature a total of 12 teams per gender, composed of:

  • Eight teams from the top-tier SVNS Division 1 (whose core status guarantees their place).
  • Four qualifiers from the second-tier SVNS Division 2.

This new format locks in the destinations for the next three years, providing a clear pathway for emerging nations through the three-tier system toward the LA 2028 Olympics:

  • SVNS 3: Feeds only into SVNS 2.
  • SVNS 2: Must qualify (top four teams) to compete for World Championship inclusion.
  • SVNS 1: Guaranteed entry to the World Championship events.
