The 2026 Women’s XVs Inter-Regional Tournament is upon us, continuing the momentum from last year’s series. Formerly known as the RAN Women’s Rugby Championship, this year’s event remains a vital fixture for senior women’s rugby across the Americas and the Caribbean.
With the 2025 series having successfully established regional rankings, the 2026 tournament focuses on further developing the RAN3 and RAN4 tiers. The matches serve as a critical platform for teams like Mexico, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago to gain international experience and climb the World Rugby rankings. This is particularly significant as Trinidad and Tobago enter as the highest-ranked team in the mix at 32nd, while Jamaica looks to pull off an upset that could see them leapfrog at least four places.
Historical powerhouse Trinidad and Tobago and recent breakout stars Mexico are once again the ones to watch. Mexico’s rise has been a major storyline since their historic 2024 and 2025 performances, which marked their first international test victories. The 2026 tournament continues to prioritize assembly time and high-performance development, ensuring the full XVs game thrives alongside the region’s established sevens programs.
