Today I will be highlighting one of my favorite websites on the web right now. Gino Ferrario and his team at Rucking Zone have been working hard to create one of the best rugby websites out there!

The best part about this website is that there will be EQUAL representation of women’s rugby! Rucking Zone is VERY interested in building all levels of rugby and that finally includes the women! Lets all support him by signing up and contributing to the site!

From Gino: The idea to build the site started out of necessity. There are rugby social networking sites out there but none that were built as a tool for the teams, players and unions.

There is a natural progression in rugby from High School to College then to Club we are just using technology to help players find teams and help teams find players.

We are seeking to become the number one news source for club news globally: If you submit it we will print it. We also offer free tournament advertising.

We are actively seeking relationships with National Rugby Unions globally

We have already created relationships with bloggers around the world to give a different perspective that players normally would not get These include:

Scrumhalf Connection
Refblog
Rugby Blog
Strength and conditioning blogs ( 1 for men, 1 for women)
French Top 14
A scrum coach
And more to come…these will be starting in April ’09!

The idea behind the site is to create an online network for the global rugby community. We will have bloggers from around the world participating to give a global perspective of the sport we love. While creating this online community our goal is to keep it organized by local, territorial and national unions. In order to achieve this goal we went through the English speaking rugby world and uploaded all teams by Unions and country. What this allows us to do is when the Unions pages are created we can show a direct line to the teams i.e. (The National Union page will display a list of local unions; the local unions will display a list of teams). By doing this it will be easier for players and teams traveling to a specific region with in a country to find the local teams. In the US we are looking for this to become a recruitment tool to help players advance to the next level. With this organization this will also allow us to create an efficient way for teams to upload their score and unions to track standings of current competitions.

“We are committed to the growth of rugby at all levels for everyone”

We are live!
We are ready and open for business! Our vision of this site is to create a place for teams to recruit current players and players without a home to find one anywhere in the world! Finally, a site for the players of club and community rugby. Come in and sign up to join our community. You don’t get paid to play the sport you love so you don’t have to pay us to feel at home. Welcome one and welcome all……..

*Note: This site is a work in progress. If you run into an issue please go to the contact us page and send us an email so we can correct any problem or answer any questions you might have.
