Submit Your Tournament: 5th Annual Clover 7s Tournament – June 13th 2009

June 2nd, 2009 — Gastonia RFC Inc. announces that it will again host the annual Clover 7s rugby tournament in Clover SC.
In an ongoing partnership between Gastonia RFC Inc. and the town of Clover, SC, the Gargoyles are pleased to host the 5th annual Clover 7s tournament concurrently with the Clover Highland Festival. The tournament this year will be on the 13th of June and include eight men’s rugby teams and a demonstration of women’s rugby.

Clover 7s is a social, senior men’s rugby tournament intended to promote the sport of rugby in the area.

“We are very pleased to continue this partnership with the town of Clover, and look forward to another great tournament” says Dan Gilbert, President GRFC. “This year we are very excited to be able to demonstrate women’s rugby, showing that rugby is a sport for all”.

Gastonia RFC Inc, is a 501(c)(3) recognized non-profit organization dedicated to the growth of rugby in Gaston County North Carolina. Established in 2004 GRFC has a Division III men’s team, an active youth program managed in cooperation with Gastonia City Parks and Recreation, and is currently standing up a women’s team to start playing in July of 2009.
