USA Eagles v Canada – Why can’t we watch live?

With less than 4 days until the International match between the USA Eagles and Canada, the buzz in rugby land (Jeanie the Greek posted about it and Liz started a Facebook campagin) is “where can we watch it?”. As of tonight (the day of the USA “A” match), neither game will be available to rugby players other than the lucky players who can travel to Glendale this weekend to watch live.

Many rugby players want to know why? Why are the best women players in the national not being put on display for the thousands of high school, college, and club players who aspire to be them? We are lucky to have this test match here on U.S. soil, but not everyone is lucky enough to be there in person, USA Rugby needs to find a way to get these games to the viewers.

There is still time and USA Rugby is still trying. Sara John, the Director of Communications for USA Rugby, responded directly to YSC assuring us that “they are working to get the USA “A” game posted within a few days and she is hoping to have the Eagle match available live.”
