UPDATE: TRU All Star Player Stephanie Flores

UPDATE 4/19: We have received the viewing and funeral information from Flores’ parents. Her viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 5:00-9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm at Castle Ridge Mortuary.

There is another viewing on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 9:00-10:00 am (open view) followed by her Funeral (Mass) starting at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Her internment will follow right after the Funeral (Mass) and will be at the Resurrrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian.

Thank you to everyone that donated to the Flores’ family, through your generous support we were able to give the family over $10,000 dollars.

It is with a sad heart that the Texas Rugby Union received word this evening that Ms. Flores has succumbed to the injuries suffered during her rugby match on Sunday. Stephanie passed at approximately 530 CDT in Kansas City.

On behalf of the Union, University of Texas Womens Rugby Club, her Coaches, Teammates and Friends we send our deepest sympathies to her Parents, family members and loved ones.

Information regarding services and donations to the family will be forwarded once the family has time to make arrangements.

  8. parents of girls in rugby should speak out against fields that are not well maintained and green. I have watched many games played from hard and dried out fields that were not fit to play on. there should be a standard for field quality because rugby is rough sport. parents of ladies in rugby should stand up and put their foot down on field conditions
