BERKELEY ALL BLUES NAME KATHY FLORES NEW HEAD COACH

Berkeley, CA – The Berkeley All Blues are pleased to announce that Kathy Flores will be returning as Head Coach for the 2011 Women’s Premier League season.

Flores coached the All Blues from 1994 to 2007 and led the team to 11 National Championships. She stepped down to focus on her duties as USA Women’s National Team Head Coach, but is happy to be back at the helm of the All Blues.

“I am excited to be working with the All Blues again. There has been quite the change of players since I was last working with the team, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to get everyone working together,” states Flores.

Flores will be working closely with her new Assistant Coach, former MIT Women’s Head Coach and Beantown Assistant Coach, Brandon Sparks. Alex Williams, former All Blue Head Coach and Women’s National Team Assistant Coach, will be on staff as a forwards technical coach.

All Blues President Ginna Brelsford says, “Kathy Flores is an exceptional rugby coach. The All Blues are very fortunate to have her passion, knowledge, and technical expertise to help the team realize our full potential.”

The Berkeley All Blues welcome players of all levels of experience. More information about summer sevens or the fall WPL season can be found at www.berkeleyallblues.com.
