Get your Weekend Fill of Rugby! IRB 7s in London and Rugby Super League in the US

from Universal Sports and Buzz McClain:

If you need even more of a rugby fix this weekend – in addition to the IRB Sevens World Series in London on Universal Sports Sunday – you can catch the USA Rugby Super League final streamed online.

The game will air live from Life University in Marietta, Ga., where the visiting San Francisco Golden Gate will take on Life at 2 p.m. ET. It’s free; all you have to do is go to here and fill in the blanks.

The Rugby Super League is America’s top competition. There are 11 teams from across the country that fly back and forth each spring at great expense to kick the tar out of each other until they win enough games to get into this final.

It’s no coincidence that USA Eagles head coach Eddie O’Sullivan will be in attendance, and interviewed at halftime. The Super League is a showcase for athletes who think they got the stuff to make the Eagles, and there’s no better place to turn on the juice than in front of a finals audience.

This is SFGG’s third consecutive appearance in the final. The club won in 2009 but lost last year to New York Athletic Club.

SFGG let Old Puget Sound Beach know who was in charge in their semifinal, putting the hurt on OPSB 55-22. Plus, SFGG has a prop named Simone Laulaupeaalu, who is as intimidating as his name is hard to spell.

Life squeaked by Boston at home in the semifinal, 27-23, to keep their season alive.

I’m thinking Life’s luck has run out. SFGG needs to travel well and score big very early to keep Life from using the momentum of home field advantage.

Bottom line: SFGG 37, Life 22.
