EAST STROUDSBURG, PA- Celebrating its 10th year, the East Stroudsburg Rugby Player Development Camp remains the premier co-educational rugby camp focused on improving athletes’ foundation and knowledge of the game. The camp’s positive reputation continues to draw campers of varied experience levels. The campers’ enthusiasm and eagerness to learn as well as the instructors’ inspiration and love of the game are instrumental in the camp’s success.

The camp’s official sponsor, Rugby Imports, along with founder Bob Hoder, generously provided camper jerseys, t-shirts, and instructor kits. Through this sponsorship, they remain committed to the development of youth and high school rugby.

The diverse ruggers were divided into groups based on gender, age, position, and experience and then instructed by the highly trained staff including: Lance Connolly, Mike Cox, Mel Denham, Christina “Hobs” Hobson, Phaidra Knight, MaryBeth Mathews, KO Onufry, Dan Sonon, Scott Stratton, and Bob Wier and led by lead instructor, Richard Ashfield, on basic and unit skills and position specific play. Some camper favorites this year were the touch tournament and the all new 7’s instruction. All of their hard work throughout camp paid off. Parents were extremely impressed at the Sunday scrimmages with what campers had gained in such a short time.

Instructors were pleased with the dedication and passion of the campers and encouraged them to meet their potential. Written evaluations gave campers insight into their areas of strength and improvement. Campers were thrilled with all the skills instruction they received and also valued the one-on-one training.

The East Stroudsburg Rugby Player Development Camp has consistently attracted rugby athletes for a decade due to its sound curriculum and positive feedback from attendees, instructors, and parents.
2012 Camp Dates are tentatively set for July 12-15, 2012. More information can be found at the camp website: www.esurugby.com/rugby_camp.htm.
